The Technology Architect – Intermediate will support the Justice Technology Services team in defining the technical approach for integrating Salesforce with legacy systems and third-party applications. The role includes assessing business processes, preparing architecture documents, producing integration and data flow diagrams, and identifying technical risks with mitigation strategies. Resource will also prepare specifications for customizations, configurations, APIs, and integration components.

Scope of Work
  • Define integration approaches for Salesforce with legacy and third-party applications.
  • Develop middleware and data flow diagrams.
  • Assess business processes and create architecture documentation.
  • Identify technical risks related to integration, scalability, and compliance.
  • Document high-level and detailed architecture diagrams, data models, and security frameworks.
  • Provide specifications for Salesforce customizations, APIs, and integration components.
Assignment Deliverables
  • Integration approach and data flow diagrams.
  • Architecture assessments and documentation.
  • Risk identification and mitigation planning.
Mandatory Experience
  • 5+ years Salesforce experience.
  • 5+ years architect experience working with vendors.
  • 5+ years technical architect experience.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities.
  • Experience leading the development and implementation of technical architectures.
  • Experience with structured methodologies for design, development, and implementation.
  • Extensive Salesforce experience in large system environments.
  • Experience designing ITIL-based processes and guiding teams in applying them.
  • Experience translating business requirements into process, reporting, and data models.
  • Experience developing enterprise architecture artifacts and models.
  • Use of CASE tools and other architecture tools.
  • Awareness of emerging technology trends.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
Evaluation Criteria
  • Salesforce Experience – 30%: Salesforce architecture, Sales/Service/Marketing Cloud, Apex, Visualforce, LWC, SOQL, integration patterns, middleware such as MuleSoft.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management – 30%: Experience collaborating with vendors, managing complex initiatives, leading architecture decisions.
  • Architecture Experience – 20%: Ability to prepare EA artifacts, conceptual/logical/physical models, reporting needs, modeling for Salesforce projects.
  • Communication Skills – 15%: Ability to interpret government processes, strong written/verbal communication, negotiation, and problem-solving.
  • Public Sector Experience – 5%: Prior work with government or public sector stakeholders.
Knowledge Transfer Requirements
  • Provide all design documentation, models, and technical materials to project staff.
  • Share information obtained from vendors and internal solution teams.
  • Document best practices, workarounds, and lessons learned.
  • Provide KT through meetings, workshops, and documentation throughout the lifecycle.
